Family Divided-King Lear

 have often wondered of the mind set of the Greats;play-writes, poets, painter and composers of times past, now and yet to come. Shakespeare, has always kept me wondering has he has so many others throughout the centuries of years to today. Were his writings of his life at some point in time? When he started to bring his works to life in his plays was it he living them out for all the world to see? Many of his writings have this affect, all are truly great once you can understand them. I want to know is when is acting, such and when is it not? How many of his plays truly about him or someone he knew.

Shakespeare, spent a great deal of his time in London England during the Elizabethan times. While his wife and children lived at her fathers home. Did he miss her so much it almost drove him mad? or was there a hostel take over underway? Much like his play of King Lear? Were his writing just one of the ways to bring more than just 'joy' to others, but so much more. Like it is for many of us here.

Shakespeare's plays have been portrayed by so many different actors, few give powerful a performance to his works. But, still fewer yet can give such a performance you have to wonder ok is this real or surreal.

Sir, Ian McKellen and Mr James Earl Jones, both give such a performance as King Lear. Both draw you in and have you clinging to every word. Makes no matter that you can not fully understand it. These men, don't just make you to understand, they have you there with them. As, King Lear, as a man that is being railroaded by his family, his baby girls to take over Britain's Kingdom. Thus into thinking he is mad (crazy). This play just goes to show you money is the root for all evil, can destroy families then and still does today.

When my children were small, being a single mother of four, trying to find affordable, clean, educational and fun entertainment.  Was very hard, to accomplish, but I preserved and found some great things to do as a family.  Right in my own neighborhood (Middle School & High School Plays), in the next town over (famous Genesee Theatre, Waukegan, IL) and at my local community college (James Lumbar center for Preforming Arts, Grayslake, IL).  I'm sure you have the same or similar places near or around you. 

They don't cost much and you get to see some up & coming new artist and some legionary performers. These young artist need our support as a community to go and see and to let them know all their hard work is very much appreciated.  Because if you don't its these programs that will be cut.  Why? No one cares to come out to see and support them.  So take the time get out for the evening, or even afternoon and away from the big screen plasma TV and XBox.  Go see a live play, or music (real music) concert performance.
